HP Joins HD DVD Forces

Following Microsoft and Intel's support for HD DVD, HP has decided to join the fray, while continuing to back Blu-ray. In October, HP asked BDA (Blu-Ray Disc Association), a Blu-Ray standard consortium, to adopt both technologies, which was rejected by BDA. HP thus turned to embrace HD DVD, hoping such integration can reduce production and development costs.
